Hello ero-manga maniacs; if you’re interested in harems, school girls and a bit of the supernatural, have we got a treat in store for you!
Nanaka no Rakuen is a now-complete series by Akatsuki Myuuto. If I’m reading things correctly; Akatsuki Myuuto is a professional ero-mangaka with several volumes under his belt, but he decided he wanted to self publish, and has recently been making things with his doujin circle, Akatsukiya. It looks like this was their first release back in 2021, with the final chapter released in 2024.
Meet our hero, Minoru Higurashi.
Per standard harem tropes, he’s a quiet, nerdy guy with glass. He is also generally unpopular with women even though he’s a kind, harmless guy. Minoru is weak and has been bullied his whole life, but he wants to be a teacher. Working at a high school in the city didn’t work out, of course, because women be bitches. So, he find himself shuffled off to a small old school way out in the countryside at the beginning of July.
Making his way through a tunnel, he comes to the school in question. Being the nerdy guy he is, he loves to take photos and you already know what’s going to happen. Say it with me. He accidentally takes photos of naked girls in a bath!
He’s fired, right? No, of course not; this is ero-manga. While he is scolded by the school’s facilities manager, the girls don’t mind. In fact, once he’s properly introduced to all of the girls, they just want to play with him. And I bet you already know why.
The first thing they do is show him around the school, and that’s when the first plot point kicks in. You see, he protests that it’s class time, while everyone says it’s summer vacation. He checks his phone and, sure enough it’s August 1st! Something strange is afoot!
Anyway, because it’s summer, the girls spend their time doing the standard Japanese summer activities. They see fireworks, catch bugs, go swimming, etc. And now that they’ve got a new person here they want to play with him! What’s the first game they want to play? “Lover Play”, of course, and all of the girls want to get their smooches in.
Our hero is, of course, flabbergasted at the idea, but he goes along with it, with some hot and heavy making out with all of his students. He’s even more stunned when they didn’t want to just kiss and finds himself in the middle of a massive suck fest.
And then, of course, he has to have sex with all of the girls in question with massive creampies for everyone!
Sex and Mystery
I’m always amazed by the stamina on display in ero-manga. I mean, I had sex with three girls at once one time. It was amazing! But I was pretty much pushing rope after the second girl. I ate her out like a champ, but it just wasn’t the same. And that next day, I was sore as hell. How anybody can have that much sex without their body giving out… well… hey, that’s kind of a mystery, too, isn’t it? *wink*
Apart from the copious amounts of sexy times, one thing I really enjoyed seeing was Minoru’s development. It’s a fairly standard harem hero’s journey but watching him grow from a sad little weakling to a confident man is fun. And it just goes to show; if you men lack confidence, you just need to fuck a whole bunch of beautiful women. And for you women… uh… I guess you need to fuck a bunch of handsome men…? Is that the lesson, here?
More to the point, there’s a lot more to meet the eyes in Nanaka’s no Rakuen than a bunch of sex hungry teens. Thanks to the length of the series, all of those secrets and all of those girls get explored in depth. (heh heh) It weaves a tale of supernatural mystery that reveals that things are not what they seem, and that the power of love can save us all and give us a happy ending. (heh heh)
Something for Everyone
Putting the story aside, the girls are hot. There are 7 sisters in total (yes, they are all sisters), and that means there’s one who will match your type. Ichika, the onee-san. Ninoka, the cool one. Mitsuka, the curious one. Yotsuka, the quiet one. Itsuka, the sporty, boyish one. Mutsuka, the little sister type. And, though you don’t really get to meet her for a couple of chapters, Nanaka, who is the sole blonde one and has some mysteries of her own.
Each of the girls also has a body to match their personality, so there’s something for every taste here. If you like tall girls, there’s something for you. Big breasts more your thing? There’s something for you. You like them a little more petite, There’s something for you. Each girl is unique and distinct, which is impressive when you’re dealing with seven of them. Making all of them unique and yet hot is one of Akatsuki Myuuto’s talents, and it’s one that you can enjoy.
Each chapter also features a different type of “play”. For example, one time they play “doctor”. Another time some of them sneak off to their “secret base” for a fuck fest. Another time they enjoy a summer festival. And they do all of this as Minoru tries to unravel the supernatural mystery that keeps them all there in an endless summer and free them from whatever curse has trapped them there.
And that leads to the last bit of something for everyone (with a bit more of a spoiler warning); loli has been popular for years in the ero-manga sphere, but something that’s become popular recently in ero-manga is a situation where the girl is question looks young, but actually isn’t. Maybe they’re a demon or other kind of supernatural creature that ages differently. Maybe they are like that Batman character that doesn’t age. For whatever reason, the girl isn’t actually a girl but a full woman who actually just looks like a girl.
That’s the case here; these girls have been trapped in this unceasing summer vacation for decades, making them all actually in their 80s, even though they all look like they are in their teens. So if you are into loli stuff but also have a voice in the back of your head nagging you, you have a moral fig leaf, too.
A Plethora of Purchasing Options
This series surprised me as I first came across it as a professionally published tankobon by TI Net on a visit to my local adult book store. When I looked it up, I learned that it was originally released as separate issues of doujinshi. You can still buy it that way, too.
Anyway, there are some upsides and downsides to this from a format perspective. The contents are the same, but we decided that because of the plusses and minuses, it would be best to give you all of the available options and let you choose what fits best for you.
If you purchase the dojin edition you’re going to pay more because you’re buying each individual chapter. You will spend about 8000 yen for the whole set. There’s also an omnibus edition that includes the first 4 chapters and some bonus pages for about 3000 yen, so you could save a bit and get a bit more. But that’s a LOT more expensive that buying two tankobon volumes.
However, there are several upsides to purchasing the dojin version. First of all, the tankobon version has DRM, so you can only read it on the website online or through their manga reader on devices. While you can view the dojin version on DLsite as well, it’s available as a collection of images and PDFs, so you can also download and then move it around and view it anywhere, on any of your devices.
Secondly, it’s censored. The tankobon version is censored with mosaics. The dojin version includes both a mosaic version and a black bar version. Of course, any censoring is less than ideal, but this is Japan and at least you can choose your poison.
Finally, and I can’t emphasize this enough, the dojin version is complete. You can read it all right now, and, as mentioned above, the story is actually pretty interesting. The tankobon version currently only has volume 1 out, which only includes the first four chapters. Volume 1 came out over a year ago. That’s a long time for no Volume 2.
In conclusion…
Whether you choose to go dojin or tankobon (or maybe split the difference), this series is hot and I have already added it to my “regular fap” collection. The first chapter is available to read if you go to the tankobon version, and the dojin series samples has a variety of different sexy times to enjoy. Check it out!
